Some facts about botox

Ageing is quite a difficult and a bitter truth that one has to deal with, especially in an era which celebrates youth. The various signs of ageing such as spots, wrinkles, fine lines, sagging skin and hollows which were not present on your face just a while ago are now slowly beginning to take over your entire face and rob you off your beauty and appeal, in turn making it extremely hard to look into the mirror and like oneself.

However, when it comes to these sorts of ageing signs, there is one injectable answer to this problem, which is in the form of botox. Botox can be a pretty expensive and the results may not last for a long period of time, but the results of this treatment are so very amazing that the millions of men and women who swear by it say that this treatment not only makes them look younger but more energetic and less stressed as well.

The treatment was officially approved by the Food and Drug Administration in the year 2002. Since then it has been used on a lot of people in Auckland and other parts of the world. However, you should not think of it as a simple and basic substance. Do you really know what exactly does this substance contain which is being injected into people’s faces to get them their young looking face back again?

Botulism is a type of paralyzing disease. One of the types of this illness is contracted when a person eats a contaminated or improperly processed food. This sort of contamination is common in vegetables, although there have been cases of botulism in foil wrapped foods and juices as well. The cause of this disease is a bacterium called clostridium botulimun which is usually found in dirt and soil. This bacteria tends to release neurotoxins, a dangerous substance that can have devastating impact on the nerve tissue.

This is the very poison that scorpions and other venomous insects use to paralyze their prey.
In order to treat wrinkles, small doses of this poison are used. However, the poison is first refined to ensure that the effects do not last for a long period of time and do not cause any harm to the tissues of the patient undergoing the treatment. The paralyzing effect of the drug paralyzes the facial muscles which in turn leads to smoothing of wrinkles and fine lines
